How to Create Promo
The Promo feature can help increase your outlet transactions. Through Backoffice, Moka POS facilitates you to create various types of promos according to your needs, such as:
- Percentage discount (%)
- Nominal Discount (Rp)
- Free Item Discount
An explanation of the types of promos in the Moka backoffice and examples of their use can be accessed here. Here's how to create a promo:
- Login to Moka Backoffice
- Go to LIBRARY.
- Click Promo.
- Click Create Promo button.
- Select the promo type and name settings.
If you want to set a percentage and nominal promo, select the Discount per Item promo type on PROMO INFORMATION
If you want to set a free item promo, select the Free Item promo type in the PROMO INFORMATION
Fill in the promo name, select an outlet, and specify the Sales Type of the promo
Choose the Sales Type* that this promo will apply. This feature will help you to implement more specific promos based on the type of sale that can be dine-in. take away, and other modes. There are two options:- All Sales Type: To apply promos to all types of sales that have been registered with the outlet
- Specific Sales Type: To determine the type of sales only applied to the promo
Once you're done, click Next.
*To use this feature, you need to register the type of sale first. If not, then this feature will be in disabled mode. Learn how to register a Sales Type here.
- In the PURCHASE REQUIREMENT section, set the shopping requirements, what items the customer must buy to get the promo. for example: if a customer buys item A, then he will get a promo. Shopping requirements can be item-specific or you can choose items from certain categories
- Select Item and choose what item that the customers need to buy. Set the variant if there is any specific item. If there is not, you can set it into All Variant.
- You can add more items in this section by clicking Add Item. Set "OR" relation if you have option for the purchase requirement or "AND" for multiple requirements. After all set, click Next. Fill in the quantity on how many items the customers need to buy and after all set, click Next.
If you select item from a category, the promo will be applied to any items and its variant under the category you have chosen. For this option, you are only allowed to choose 1 category. Fill in the quantity on how many item the customers need to buy and after all set, click Next.
7. Set the reward that the customers can get. You can create free item or discount for reward.

- To set a free item as a reward, select Free Item then choose the item you want to set as a reward and fill in the quantity on how many item the customers can get. Choose the variant if there is any specific item. If there is not, you can set into All Variant.
- You can have single or multiple free items for reward by clicking Add Item button to add more rewards. Set "OR" relation if you have reward option or "AND" for multiple rewards. After all set, click Next.
- For discount, you can set into % discount or Rp discount for reward. Choose Discount then set discount value that customers can get. After all set, click Next.

8. Set the promo configuration.

- You can set if the promo will be applied to multiple order or not.
- If you check Applies in multiple checkbox, the ongoing promo will be applied to multiple order. For example, you set the promo “buy 1 get 1”, the customer who buy 2 will get 2.
- If you uncheck it, then the ongoing promo will be not applied to the multiple order. For example, you set the promo “buy 1 get 1”, the customers who buy 3 items promo will only get 1 free item.
- Set promo time period, when the promo will be activated by selecting the date, hour and day. You can also schedule the promo for future plan. Check Set promo time period checkbox to fill in.
- You can set if the promo will be applied to multiple order or not.

9. After all set click Create button.
Notes:

- There will be two promo status. If you set promo to be activated immediately, the status will be shown as “Ongoing”. While “Schedule” status appears if you created a promo for future program.
The promo you have created cannot be edited except only promo time period. This action is prevented so the sales report will not be changed.
10. On Moka App, once you have chosen promo type, promo will be added into shopping cart as below:
Following is the look on apps if you choose promo for item variant.
You can also combine various promos into one item of your business product through Moka Backoffice, so your store can offer products with various attractive promos to your customers. Example:
- Nasi Goreng gets 10% off at GoFood
- Nasi Goreng gets 10% off at GrabFood
- Purchase of two servings of Nasi Goreng will get free one serving of Mie Ayam.
In the picture above, Coca Cola and Fanta can be included in two promo categories in Moka Backoffice, which is the Promo Weekday and Promo Weekday 1. By using multiple promos in one product, it will attract more customers' attention due the diverse promotion for one product, according to the needs and choices of the customer.
