Lesson 10: View Dashboard Analysis and Reports in Backoffice
After setting up your Moka App according to Lesson 9: Manage Library Using App, this lesson will help you view Dashboard and Reports on backoffice Moka for your business.

How to View Sales Summary Analysis on Dashboard
To view sales summary analysis of your business, follow these steps:
- On the backoffice, select menu DASHBOARD.
- On the outlet filter, click All Outlets or a selected outlet.
- On the date filter, set the time range for the report.
- Click Apply.
The dashboard will show the sales business report with the selected outlet within the selected time range. Here is the definition and how to read each section:
Sales Summary
- Gross Sales
The overall revenue from sales transactions at outlets within the period you selected before deducting discounts, promos, refunds, and return transactions. - Net Sales
The revenue earned from sales transactions at outlets within the period you selected after deducting discounts, promos, and return transactions. - Gross Profit
Total capital (Cost of Goods Sold) incurred and total profit (Gross Profit) obtained along with the percentage of total income (Net Sales) for outlets within the period you selected.
Formula: (Net Sales-COGS) = Gross Profit. - Number of Transactions
The number of sales transactions at the outlet within the period you selected. - Avg. Sale Per Transaction
The average nominal transaction per sale at the outlet in the period you selected. - Gross Margin
The percentage of profit earned from the capital you spend to sell the item.
Item Summary
- Top Items
Show 10 best-selling items at the outlet within the period you selected. - Top Items by Category
Show 3 best-selling items in each category of goods at the outlet within the period you selected. - Category by Volume
Show data on the number of sales transactions per category to find out the best-selling item
categories at the outlets within the selected period. - Category by Sales
Show revenue based on sales per category to find out the categories of goods that contribute the most to the total income at the outlet within the selected period.
How to Export Reports
Reports features provides Sales, Transactions, Invoices, and Shift reports. You are able to export the file in .csv format and open the file on Excel. Here are the definition of each report types:
Sales Report
Sales Reports are reports of overall income from sales transactions of an outlet or all outlets. To view this report, follow these steps:
- On the backoffice, select menu REPORTS, then click Sales.
- On the outlet filter, select All Outlets or a selected outlet.
- On the date filter, select the time range for the report.
- To download the sales report, click Export.
Here are the definition of sales reports sections:
- Sales Summary - The flow of sales from Gross Sales to Total Collected.
- Gross Profit - Total capital (Cost of Goods Sold) incurred and total profit (Gross Profit) obtained along with the percentage of total income (Net Sales).
- Payment Methods - Break down the report from cash, debit/credit cards, e-wallet, and other payment methods.
- Sales Type - Break down the report of each sales type (example: Dine-in, Take Away)
- Item Sales - Break down the quantity and gross sales by item variant.
- Category Sales - Break down the quantity and gross sales per category.
- Modifier Sales - Break down the quantity and gross sales by modifier.
- Discounts - Break down the number of discounts applied to sales by discount name.
- Taxes - Break down the amount of taxes applied to sales according to tax name.
- Gratuity - Break down the amount of gratuity applied to sales according to gratuity name.
- Collected By - Break down the number of transactions and total sales amounts collected by your cashier.
- Served By - Break down the number of transactions and the total amount collected by your assigned server.
- Note: In order to view this report, you need to enable Track Server under Account Settings, then click Checkout.
Transaction Report
Transactions Report analyzes every transaction on every outlet. To view the transaction report, follow these steps:
- On the backoffice, select menu REPORTS, then select Transactions.
- On the outlet filter, select All Outlets or a selected outlet.
- On the date filter, set the time range for the report.
- To download the transaction report, click Export.
Invoice Report
Invoice Report shows invoice transaction and the due date for the invoice payment from Moka App. To view the invoice report, follow these steps:
- On the backoffice, select menu REPORTS, then click Invoices.
- On the outlet filter, select All Outlets or a selected outlet
- On the date filter, set the time range for the report.
- To download the invoice report, click Export.
Shift Report
Shift Report provides details of payment method transactions within a selected shift when the shift is running or when it has ended. To view the shift report, follow these steps:
- On the backoffice, select menu REPORTS, then click Shift.
- On the outlet filter, select All Outlets or a selected outlet
- On the date filter, set the time range for the report.
- To download the shift report, click Export.
