Promo Examples For Your Business
You are able to create different types of promotions for your business using the Promo feature. There are two types of promo that you can use:
- Discount Per Item
Is a promo option that allows you to give a percentage discount (%) and a nominal discount (Rp) for each purchase of a specific menu in your outlet. - Free Item
It is a promo option that allows you to apply a free menu scheme for the purchase of certain menus.
From the two promo types above, you can make promo modifications such as the scheme below. You can click directly to learn how to create a promo, as follows:
- Buy 1 Get % Discount
The reward is in discount. For example: Discount 20% for Es Kopi Susu. - Buy 1 Get Rp Discount
The reward is in price cut. For example: Discount Rp 5.000 for any drink. - Buy 1 Get 1
Free one item for any purchases from a category. For example: Buy 1 drink, free 1 cake. - Bundling Packages
Free one item, get a price cut or a discount for purchasing a packet. For example: Discount 20% for 2 drinks. - Seasonal Promo
This promotion make use of a certain occasion for a limited time. For example: Discount 30% for lunch menu on Weekdays lunch hours (11:00-13:00).

How to Create Promo Buy 1 Get % Discount
Here are the steps to create promo Buy 1 Get % Discount:
- Login to backoffice Moka, visit menu LIBRARY, then select Promo
- Click Create Promo
- Select Discount per Item promo type in PROMO INFORMATION
- Specify and fill out the promo name. We recommend making your promo name as unique as possible. Promo names are used as differentiators in discount and sales reports.
- Click Assign Outlet to choose which outlet the promo will apply for. Once you're done, select Assign Promo.
- Choose the Sales Type* that this promo will apply. This feature will help you to implement more specific promos based on the type of sale that can be dine-in. take away, and other modes. There are two options:
- All Sales Type: To apply promos to all types of sales that have been registered with the outlet
- Specific Sales Type: To determine the type of sales only applied to the promo
Once you're done, click Next.
*To use this feature, you need to register the type of sale first. If not, then this feature will be in disabled mode. Learn how to register a Sales Type here.
7. Determine the shopping requirements that customers must buy to get promos

- Select Item to specify the item you want to give the promo. If there is a variety of items that want to be used as promos, choose the variant. If there is none, select All Variant.
- Add shopping requirements by clicking the Add Item button. Enter 1 in the Qty column and specify the promo item in the Select Item column, and then click Next.

- Select Any item from a category to determine the items contained in a category that will be given the promo.
- Enter 1 in the Qty column and specify the item category requirements in the Select Category column, and then click Next.

8. Make sure the promo reward settings are in percentage discount units (%), as shown below:

How to Create Promo Buy 1 Get Rp Discount
Here are the steps to create promo Buy 1 Get Rp Discount:

- Select AND so that both promo items must be purchased as promo requirements
- Add shopping requirements by clicking the Add Item button. Enter 1 in the Qty column and specify the promo item in the Select Item column, and then click Next.

How to Create Seasonal Promo
Here are the steps to create promo Buy 1 Get % Discount:
- Login to backoffice Moka, visit menu LIBRARY, then select Promo
- Click Create Promo
- If you want to set a percentage (%) and nominal promo (Rp), select the discount per item promo type on PROMO INFORMATION
- If you want to set a free promo item, select the Free Item promo type in the PROMO INFORMATION section
- Specify and fill out the promo name. We recommend making your promo name as unique as possible. Promo names are used as differentiators in discount and sales reports.
- Click Assign Outlet to choose which outlet the promo will apply for. Once you're done, select Assign Promo and click Next.
- In the PURCHASE REQUIREMENT section, set the shopping requirements, what items customers must buy to get promos. For example: if the customer buys item A, then he will get a promo.

- Select an Item and determine what items the customer must buy to get the promo. Choose a variant if there is a certain item that you want to use as a promo. If there is none, select All Variant.
- You can also add more items to your shopping requirements by clicking the Add Item button. Choose the "OR" option if you have a choice of items to buy or "AND" if you have more than one item to buy. Fill in the number of items to be purchased after you've finished clicking Next.

- If you choose Any item from a category, items contained in the selected category will be applied as promo items. For this option, you can only choose one category. Enter the number of items to buy and then click Next.

8. In the REWARD section, if you give a reward in the form of a percent (%) or nominal discount (Rp), you are asked to determine one of them along with the nominal, then the dialog box display will be as follows:
9. If you're giving a reward in the form of a free item, select Add Item and specify the item. Choose the variant if there are certain items that you want to be rewarded for. If there is none, select All Variant. Here's a look at the dialog box:
10. Set the promo period by checking the promo time period set. Determine the start and end dates of the promo, the promo time is active, and what day the promo is active.

You can also combine the above promos into one item of your business product through Moka Backoffice, so your store can offer products with various attractive promos to your customers. Example:
- Nasi Goreng gets 10% off at GoFood
- Nasi Goreng gets 10% off at GrabFood
- Bundle of Nasi Goreng and Fried Chicken
- Purchase of two servings of Nasi Goreng will get free one serving of Mie Ayam.
In the picture above, Coca Cola and Fanta can be included in two promo categories in Moka Backoffice, which is the Promo Weekday and Promo Weekday 1. By using multiple promos in one product, it will attract more customers' attention due the diverse promotion for one product, according to the needs and choices of the customer.
